Privacy and cookies

Short version: I do not ask you to sign up, I do not sell anything about you, and analytics only runs if you say yes. Last updated 30 October 2026.

Who runs this site

Scratch & Roam with Natali, based in Ireland. Questions about your data: scratchandroam@gmail.com.

What I collect

There are no accounts, comments or sign-up forms on this site, so I do not collect your name or email unless you write to me.

Analytics (only if you accept)

I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, from which country, and on what kind of device. It sets cookies (names starting with _ga) only after you press "Accept analytics". If you press "No thanks", or ignore the box, I tell Google that analytics storage is denied and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Google acts as a processor for this data under its own terms.

Things saved in your own browser

Your ticked steps on a guide, your cookie choice, and your search history are stored in your browser only. They are never sent to me. Clearing your browser data removes them.

YouTube videos

Videos on the guides come from YouTube using the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may still receive your IP address and set its own cookies when you press play. See Google's policy for details.

Affiliate links and partners

Some links earn me a commission, see the affiliate disclosure. Pages load a small script from Travelpayouts to match a booking to my link. Once you click through to a partner site (Klook, Amazon and others), that site's own privacy policy applies. I have not confirmed whether the Travelpayouts script sets cookies on its own, and I will update this page when I know.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, and object to how it is used. Because I do not keep a list of visitors, the data I could look up is usually only an email you sent me. If you are unhappy with how I handle it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.

Changes

If I change how the site tracks visitors, I will change this page and the date at the top.
